The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis has created three great free Obstetrics apps for iPhone and iPad. Two of the apps are critical downloads, while the other should be reserved for those doing their AI in Ob/GYN.
WUSM OB Guide:
WUSM OB Guide is an app with excellent content that you can use on your L&D rotation of OB/GYN. The app contains several topics that will relate to the patients you see.
My issue with the app is the use of PDFs to explain the content. The PDF’s are short and to the point, but overall the developers of the app missed out on an opportunity to display the content a lot nicer. E.g. It will be easier to read the content of the app on your iPad than it will on your iPhone.
That said, the app is free, and it does contain great content. There is a quiz section you should go through, but understand some of the content within the quiz area will be too advanced for MS3 students.

WUSM OB Calc
WUSM’s OB Calc is an adjunct to their OB Guide app. The app’s user interface is significantly better than OB Guide. It doesn’t contain as much content, but does have clinical calculators Obstetricians will use to make clinical decisions. Calculators to note are Vaginal Birth after Cesarean(VBAC) and Ectopic Pregnancy Management.
